Well, that's... interesting logic. Typically when wanting to watch (or illustrate) the sun moving across the sky, you'd need to face the sun, not face away from it. Therefore, in the northern hemisphere, you need to face south, which is why most animations go left to right.It's rising due east and setting due west, left to right or right to left depends well, on where the observer is facing at lol if you face north then it goes right to left, If you face south then it goes left to right.
